What Matters When You Roll Out Across Classrooms

Common problems when rolling out any tool across multiple classrooms — and how we address them

Inconsistent programs across classrooms

Each teacher uses different materials, making it hard to compare results or maintain standards.

Shared word lists and curriculum. Use the same grade-level lists, Dolch, and Fry words across every classroom in your pilot.

Data privacy concerns

Vendors too often share student data with third parties or skip compliance detail.

Designed to align with COPPA, with role-based access. No advertising, no third-party sharing, student accounts without email addresses, and rate-limited, server-issued login tokens.

Managing hundreds of accounts

Creating teacher and student accounts manually doesn't scale.

Bulk CSV rostering with kid-friendly login. Import students in bulk, create accounts without student emails, and hand out QR cards, class-session codes, login codes, or magic links based on grade level.

What's Ready for a Pilot Today

Tools you can lean on from day one — see the honest pilot vs. backlog breakdown below

Role-Based Access

District, teacher, parent, and student roles — plus a superadmin role for tenant-level support. Teachers manage their classrooms; district admins view across the teachers they supervise.

Bulk CSV Rostering

Import teachers, students, and class rosters via CSV. Link users to classes in bulk. No manual account creation.

Cross-Class Reporting

View progress across the classrooms you manage and export to CSV. Building- and district-level roll-ups are on the roadmap and sized during pilot onboarding.

Shared Curriculum

Pre-built Dolch, Fry, and grade-level word lists give every classroom in your pilot a consistent vocabulary baseline.

Support Tickets

Teachers and admins submit tickets from the admin dashboard. Pilots include a named point of contact for onboarding questions.

Custom Pilot Pricing

Individual teachers can self-serve the Classroom plan at $49.99/year. Multi-teacher or district-wide pricing is quoted per pilot — contact us with your student count and desired term.

How a Pilot Works

1

Scoping Call

Tell us your student count, grade levels, and any rostering constraints. We'll confirm what's pilot-ready today versus what we'd scope together.

2

Onboard Teachers

We help you import teacher and student accounts via CSV, set up roles, print QR login cards if needed, and run a 30-minute training session for your teachers.

3

Monitor & Review

Track adoption and progress across classrooms, export CSVs for curriculum reviews, and give us feedback so we know what to prioritize next.

Honest Pilot Readiness

We'd rather earn trust than oversell. Here is what is production-ready now, what is pilot-only, and what is still on the district-readiness backlog.

Ready now

  • CSV import / export for rosters and reporting
  • District, teacher, parent, student roles
  • Bulk assignments with due dates and forced game modes
  • 4 kid-friendly login methods (class session, QR, code + password, magic link)
  • IP rate limiting on student login endpoints (hashed IPs)
  • Support ticket system for teachers and admins

Pilot-only

  • Clever, Google Classroom, and ClassLink rostering (code complete; tenant-specific credentials required, Google scope review pending)
  • Multi-teacher / district pricing (quoted per pilot)
  • DPA review and procurement paperwork on request

On the backlog

  • Fine-grained school-admin role
  • Building-wide and district-wide progress roll-ups
  • Admin-side SSO sync health dashboard (last sync, failure state, reconnect)
  • Grade passback and LMS assignment flow

Student Data Handling

Spell Again is designed to be COPPA-aligned. Here is what we actually do, in plain language.

  • No advertising. No selling or sharing of student data with third parties.
  • Student accounts can be created without an email address.
  • IP rate limiting on unauthenticated student login endpoints, with SHA-256 hashed IPs — no raw IP addresses stored.
  • Role-based access controls what teachers and admins can see.
  • QR tokens, magic links, and class-session codes are issued and validated server-side.
  • Hosted on Google Firebase with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Account deactivation and deletion requests are honored through support.

COPPA alignment is a policy stance, not a certification. We are happy to walk a district through our privacy posture and sign a DPA before a pilot begins.

Visibility Across Your Pilot

District admins see the classrooms and teachers they supervise and can drill down where it matters.

  • View teachers, classes, and students in your scope
  • Drill into classroom and individual student progress
  • Read-only view-as, scoped to superadmins, for support troubleshooting
  • Export progress data to CSV; building- and district-level roll-ups are on the backlog

Questions from Administrators

Common questions about deploying Spell Again at scale.

Contact Us

Spell Again ships with district, teacher, parent, and student roles, plus a superadmin role for tenant-level support. Teachers own their classrooms; district admins see across the teachers they manage. A finer-grained "school admin" role is on the district-readiness backlog — we'll scope it during onboarding if your pilot needs it.

CSV import and export is live today for both rostering and reporting. We also have Clever, Google Classroom, and ClassLink OAuth integrations implemented in the codebase, but they are pilot-only: they require tenant-specific credentials and (for Google Classroom) a Google OAuth scope review that typically takes 4–8 weeks. Contact us if you would like to pilot an SSO rostering integration so we can start the paperwork.

Spell Again is designed to be COPPA-aligned. We don't show advertising, we don't share student data with third parties, and we collect only the minimum data the product needs. Student accounts can be created without an email address. Unauthenticated student login endpoints (join-session, redeem-QR, redeem-magic-link) are rate-limited with SHA-256 hashed IPs — no raw IPs are stored. QR tokens and magic links are issued and validated server-side. Data lives in Google Firebase with encryption at rest and in transit. COPPA alignment is a policy posture, not a certification — we're happy to walk through the details and sign a DPA before a pilot begins.

We'd rather you know up front. On the backlog: a fine-grained "school admin" role, building-wide and district-wide progress roll-ups, an admin-side SSO sync health dashboard, production-safe SSO token storage, and grade passback / LMS assignment flows. Clever / Google Classroom / ClassLink rostering is implemented in code but requires tenant-specific credentials before it can run in production.

Very little. Spell Again includes built-in walkthrough tours, and the admin dashboard is web-based — no software to install. See how teachers use Spell Again in their classrooms. Pilots include a live 30-minute onboarding session and an email support channel for teachers.
